Japanese Pears

Today, I found these strange pears in the market. Never know what you will find there and that's what I love about shopping in a farmer's market. These are called "Japanese pears" but are, in fact, native to China, Japan, and Korea. (And apparently Turkey!)

The taste is quite different than the ones you normally find- sweet but very light. And best of all, 2 lira a kilo (roughly $1.50).

  2. You know how normal pears can sometimes taste a bit TOO sweet? These are not so sweet but very juicy. If you get a chance I recommend them.
