That's the Way.. uh-huh uh-huh.. I Like It.

Just found a cool site for anybody who'd like to indulge their nostalgic tendencies. http://upchucky.org/TimeMachine.htm

The magical jukebox will take you back to any year you wish to listen to the hits. And some hits they were too.

Right now, I am trapped in the late 1970s and I admit to liking the feeling. (Actually, it's more than a feeling).   I am listening to.. (gurp) "Looks like we got us a  CONVOY!"  That's a song I used to listen to- not by choice, I hasten to add- and you know what? I still can't understand a thing the man says.  Something about a CON- voy.. a rubber duck and a bear. (But it does not sound much like a children's song, as far as I can tell.)

That's not a great example, perhaps. I remember feeling queasy even  when it was popular.  But.. Foghat- Slow Ride still sounds just fine to me. Even after all these years.

Ah, all those memories!

See if you can find your favorite song of all time and share it with me.

  1. I can't seem to get that website, which is a pity as I think I could have spent a few pleasurable hours there.

  2. That's a pity? Maybe it has something to do with your browser settings? (This is what people say to me all the time.) Perhaps it doesn't allow popups?
On the other hand, it could related to Java. Java is great but it requires constant updating for every new version. What do you see when you clink on the link? I double checked it and the link does indeed work. We can rule that out.

It is really worth getting it sorted. I generally can't listen to too many kinds of music while I am working on the PC. (My mind freezes up when there are lyrics for some reason.) I am okay with this, though.

  3. I just get the message that it cannot display the website. No idea why this happens. Everything else is working fine..which makes me reluctant to start messing about with things (usually a recipe for disaster). Just occasionally this happens with a website...not often. Sometimes when I try again later it works...which I'll do.

  4. I know what you mean. I wish there was an automatic reset button so I could tinker away and never have to worry about getting back to the "as least" position.
Which browser are you using? I have grown quite attached to Chrome. I loads super fast and easy to tinker with.. meaning, there are a lot of ways to mess with things. :)

Also I am discovering the world of Extensions for Chrome which allow you do a lot of nifty things.

  5. Just the normal google. I had chrome for a while but it actually caused me more problems, and I've since heard from several people that it can mess things up if you aren't pc literate (like me). I just like the simple life! I'll leave it to the clever ones like you to play with add-ons and nifty things :-)
