I am not sure if I have posted this clip before but everytime I watch it, it makes me happy. So I thought I would share this opening clip for a great film by a great filmmaker.
I too love this clip. And it ends at the house with the fountain you turn on only when you want to impress a visitor. Isn't there a scene later of a street sweeper who keeps getting distracted from his work by (presumably) important political discussions? Love the dogsters. Thank you!
One of my favorite scenes in the film is the little girl who grows up right before our eyes. The first scene she is a little girl with a crush and by the last scene she has forgotten her infatuation and is driving off with a boyfriend. I doubt very much if you could even get a film made like this nowadays ..which is a pity I think.
